Brenta Riviera

The stretch between Padua and Venice along the river Brenta, called "Brenta Riviera", is the place where between 1500 and 1700 the noble Venetian families, eager to hand down their power and magnificence, used to engage the famous architects of the time, including the famous Andrea Palladio, to build villas to be used as summer residences.

Imposing façades, sophisticated lines, artistic decorations, indoor and outdoor environments perfectly in harmony with the surrounding landscape and art collections more or less rich were the weapons used to compete in the "battle" for the image supremacy.

The several cruises available, and in particular the tourist navigation on the "Burchiello", offer the opportunity of admiring this unique landscape characterized in the past by great magnificence, noble families, wayfarers and also by the Burci, the barges for goods transport, and by the Burchielli, the Venetian ancient boats.
